Rose Barrettes...How To Guide...

An Easter Bunny For My Snuggle Bunny...

  As I've been stuck home from work today due to Paige being sick...I decided to try to keep my chin up and be productive, and made her a little Easter Bunny for her basket this Sunday.  I'de say she turned out pretty sweet.  What do you think?

Welcome Spring...

  We are into our first couple days of Spring, and I have to say THANK GOD!  I am so ready.  For so many reasons, but fresh flowers being one of the highest.  Here are some roses from last summer.  Yummmm...

For Your Walls...

  After buying a new house last year, and having many many bare walls.  My hunt for new and exciting art has been fun, yet also a challenge.  This being said, I have come across so many wonderful artists, and have decided to share a few of them with you. 

  Although Etsy is one of my main sources for art, I also have some extremely talented friends.  Whos art I am hoping to get my hands on.  I would LOVE to get some of your suggestions and favorite pictures and prints, cause I still have a ways to go before these walls are covered.

Hippity Hop...

  As you already know...Easter is on its way, and these little bunny brooches are just the prefect little addition to you or your childs Sunday Best outfit.  They are available in pretty much any color you could ever want.  The good thing about these brooches is that they can be worn long after the Easter Bunny has gone.

Stay Home....

  Well, I have been in looove with this little designer Olivia from Canada for some time now, and a particular item that she just made just re-comfirmed it... a PBR felt brooch!  Ummm... hello, what is not to love about that?  Two of my favorite things made into one.

  I only have some ornaments of hers that I ordered back at Christmas, but I will for sure be back to stalk her Etsy shop for more goodies.  You should check out her fun shop.  It is so cute... and well it just makes me happy.  It was so funny when my ornaments came in the mail right before Christmas.  When I opened the package I looked at Dominic and said (clutching them towards my chest) "these just make me so happy" and he thought I had lost it.  For reals.

Bricolage....local shop in Boise...

 A couple of my friends have decided to open up a new shop right here in Boise, and they are carrying some reaaly great items (handmade that is).  This fun littl gem is called Bricolage.  They will be featuring unique screen printed items such as T-shirts, wall prints etc.  They are also carrying fabulous bags that are seriously so fun.  I have also been asked to bring in a few of the items from my shop, and of course I said YES! 

  Bricolage has ready-made items for you, and are happy to say that they take custom orders on screen printing as well.

  The shop is located in downtown Boise on 8th street.  In between Idaho and Bannock right below Bittercreek Alehouse, and right next to Superb Sushi.  It is tucked behind a little convenient shop.  Go check them out!

Happy St. Pattys Day...

Here is a recipe for one of my favorite Irish foods...Soda Bread. It is so simple and soooo yummy. Serve it along side with your corned beef and cabbage and a big Guiness beer.

Ingredients:

•4 cups all-purpose flour

•4 tablespoons white sugar

•1 teaspoon baking soda

•1 tablespoon baking powder

•1/2 teaspoon salt

•1/2 cup margarine, softened

•1 cup buttermilk

•1 egg

•1/4 cup butter, melted

•1/4 cup buttermilk


Directions:


1.Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease a large baking sheet.

2.In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, salt and margarine. Stir in 1 cup of buttermilk and egg. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead slightly. Form dough into a round and place on prepared baking sheet. In a small bowl, combine melted butter with 1/4 cup buttermilk; brush loaf with this mixture. Use a sharp knife to cut an 'X' into the top of the loaf.

3.Bake in preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean, about 30 to 50 minutes. You may continue to brush the loaf with the butter mixture while it bakes.

Tea Party....

  I came across this idea for keeping our fresh cut flowers in those old...soon to be thrown away tea cans.  I seriously LOVE it!  What a great idea....and so economical.  Keep this idea in mind for this coming Spring and Summer.  It is right around the corner..I can feel it :)

Liberty Of London...For Target...

  While doing one of my MANY trips through Target, I just about died when I came across the new collection they have just put out.  It is called Liberty Of London....and it is sooooo cute!  I wanted to put everything in my cart.  They have evrything from Dinner wear, to Childrens clothing.  I ended up purchasing one of the pillows just to see if it would work with my bedding, and turns out it is PERFECT!  It is totally not what I had planned on doing in our room, but I have to say it is so fun.  I will definately be making more trips out to Target to get more from this new line.  Paiges new summer swim suit being one of them.  The prices on the items are very affordable as well...because it is Target right?!
