Miso has Reopened...

Hello friends!
After a long break from sewing, I have decided that it is time to reopen Miso.  A lot of pretty major things have happened since the last time I posted.  The love of my life, and I finally got married after a seven year long engagement.  We moved to a new city...and our daughter started school. Holy cow we have been busy. 

I'm pretty excited to be back behind my sewing machine again.  The break was good, but I'm so ready to get those creative juices flowing again. 

Calm...

  I don't know about you, but this time of year I really appreciate having my house really clean and calm. After the hectic last months of the year, and over abundance of clutter it is just nice to keep things a little bit more down to Earth and soft.  I am totally loving these organic and calming spaces.  Maybe they will inspire me to do a bit more decorating around my own home.

Happy Birthday Sweet Girl...

  My sweet little Paige turned 5 today...Happy Birthday sweetie!  As you can see, she was very happy to have cupcakes for brekkie.

Help Lyndsay Win Her Fight Against Leukemia...

  I wanted to take today today to share this post.  While most of my postings are light... I felt this story needed to be shared.  We have been given the opportunity to help Lyndsay by doing something that allot of us do on a daily basis.  By buying a cup of coffee.  Simple as that, and I'm sure it means the World to her.
  Today only at each of the Meridian Idaho Dutch Bros, they will be donating $1 from every drink purchased to the fund to the Lyndsay Wright Leukemia Fund.  Amazing right?  Even if D.B. isn't your choice place for a drink try stepping out of your daily routine to help this sweet girl out.

Lights Out...

  As allot of you have probably been seeing on the news...Seattle and all of the surrounding areas have been getting the snow piled on pretty thick.  My family and I live in Issaquah, which is north east of Seattle.  We have been getting a ton of snow this whole week, and yesterday we ended up with rain, which then froze causing a major power outage for thousands of residents including us.  Luckily the outage only lasted about 13 hours, and we have a gas fireplace that will ignite with the use of batteries. So we were able to keep warm to wait this storm out.  While snow is not my favorite thing in the World, it sure is pretty.

A Holiday For Love...

  I have always loved Valentines Day.  From way back in Elementary school when we use to have a Valentine Card exchange party...and now as I have gotten a little older (well allot older) I look forward to sharing little goodies and surprises with my honey and daughter. I have some good ideas for both of them this year. There is just something very sweet about this holiday.  Here are some ideas for you.  Some of them lavish and some of them D.I.Y.'s.  Have fun telling those special ones in your life how much you LOVE them.

New Childrens Shop Up & Running!

 
My new children's shop Lapineau (meaning little bunny in French) is open for business!  I decided to get back to what originally inspired me to start sewing, and creating...my daughter Paige.  Her innocence and imagination inspires me every day, and she is so much for to design for. There will be a good mix of handmade and vintage items.  I hope you all enjoy the things that pop up in the shop as much as we do!!!  xxooo  Little bunny kisses.

  Oh Seattle, how you are living up to your rainy reputation.  It has been blustery, rainy, and just plain miserable here for the last week.  So I have been on the hunt for some cheerful and "sunshiny" photos to keep myself from loosing it :)

New Years Eve...

 What are your plans for New Years Eve?  Will you be painting the town red with your girlfriends, going out with that someone special, or staying home by a cozy fire and a bottle of bubbly?  I haven't quite decided yet...I guess I better get on that.

Go Green For The New Year...

  Oh you probably thought I meant recycle more, or try to remember to turn off the lights when you leave the room.  But, I was thinking more literal.  Seriously, how fun is that green dress!  Being more environmentally friendly is a great thing too you just might as well do it while looking good.

Pretty Little Things...

Sale!  Artist Lorie Marie from Pretty Little Things is having a great pre-holiday sale on her already reduced prices.  I can't wait to receive my first item from her after drooling over her sweet and whimsical creations for years.  I ordered one of the Dream Weavers to hang above Paige's bed.  It will be the perfect addition to her room.

A D.I.Y Christmas...

  I'm pretty sure I am not alone in saying that I am a total Pinterest addict by now.  It is kind of my "Happy Place" to escape to and just look at the pretty things people are pinning.  One of my Pinterest boards is a D.I.Y. one.  I am always on the hunt for a good crafting session.  Here is one of my favorite Christmas inspired projects.  Just in time to get those last minute details done.  I hope you are all staying warm.  Cheers!

Wild Things...

  I came across this ridiculously cute shop Wild Things on Etsy.  This Mouse dress is such a fun way for your little one to use their imagination.

Oh So Fresh...

  Just a little "shout out" to my new favorite lunch spot.  No, it is not a sit down restaurant or anything like that.  It is the Gemini Fish Market here in Issaquah.  On Wednesdays my daughter has gymnastics, and she usually asks for McDonald's afterwards.  Now I'm not a super health freak, but I always feel a little guilty when she eats those happy meals.  Especially after doing something so healthy like gymnastics.  So on our way home I saw a little fish market that had a sign in the window that said "Fresh Clam Chowder, and Cioppino".  Well....they had me at Cioppino.  I was just going to get some for Dominic, but when I started loading up his bowl to go I saw how yummy and chunky it looked, so I got some for me as well as clam chowder for Paige.  We were all licking our bowls after was inhailed our soup.  I am thinking that the fish market is going to be our new Wednesday lunch tradition.  YUM!

Spool No.72...

  I am totally loving these Bohemian and Vintage inspired clothing and accessories from Spool No.72.  Sometimes it is hard to find really cute/unique clothes without having total buyers remorse or a panic attack because you decided to buy a cute New Years Eve dress instead of paying your rent.  They only keep a super limited supply of items, so you have to be on your feet to snag up one of their goodies.  I myself have my eyes on a few of these beauties.
