Bedding...
While on the hunt for the perfect bedding for our new house, I came accross sooo many yummy choices. It was a battle between two of these duvets below, and I finally (after much debate) decided on the Cirrus Bedding Collection from Anthropologie. It just looks like a wonderful cloud of soft ribboned cotton, that I will be sure to get many many good night sleeps in. I just love the soft grey color that will go with ANYTHING! I plan to dress it up with some chocolate brown and some of my Coffee Pillows that I make for my shop. I'm not sure on the other colors I will add, but I am thinking a musard yellow and soft turquoise. I will be getting my bedding in the mail next month so I will be sure to post pictures of how it turns out.
My second choice was the Hedgegrow Collection from Dwell Studios here in this first picture. It is so fun and I really love the color. It also comes in a bright red tone as well. A big plus is that it is on Sale right now for super cheap!

Bedroom Before and After...
I always get so inspired when I see others transform there outdating and boring rooms into something fabulous, and this room is no exception. This room belongs to Violette Marsh out of Boston. The colors in the room are so energetic and somewhat un-expected. It just feels so girlie and clean. You can see what the room looked like before she started her rooms transformation from start to finish. She has done evrything from ripping out the old floors, to repainting and re-furnishing. Thank goodness she kept that beautiful wainscoating though.

Headboards...
As I am trying to find some great ideas to use on our new home, my newest task is our bedroom. While I appreciate the classic and traditional headboards, I was hoping for something a little more special. Alot of these headboards are creating using materials that you wouldn't normaly consider using, but I must say I am in awe. You can use anything from fabric, antique doors, wallpaper, and the list goes on and on. Hopefully this will give you others out there that are in search for the Perfect Headboard.

My Shop Has Reopened!!!
Well I think that I have taken a nice little break to refreshen my thoughts and ideas, and also spend some time with my family over the holidays. It felt great to relax and read a book or watch a movie if I wanted, but I am definately ready to get back to doing what I love....designing.
With this new line I decided that I wanted to do some things that I haven't ever done before, and have a different feel to my items. Since Valentines Day is just around the corner I chose to do some more Romantic and Nostaglic things. I used alot of vintage fabrics and embelishments, which was so much fun! I also wanted to use some more natural and raw textures and colors because that seems to be what I am drawn to right now.
I really hope you all enjoy this new line as much as I do....Enjoy!

Haiti Relief...
I am sure that by now all of you are aware of the tragedy that has once again hit a very beautiful but poverty stricken counrty. Haiti was the target for a level 7.0 earthquake this past Teusday leaving at least 50,000 people dead. This is so devistating and it makes my heart ache for these people that have lost their families, homes, and anything that might seem normal to them.
If you are looking for some way to donate to some money to aid in the relief of this event, I have included the website for the American Red Cross, and will lead you in the right direction. You can donate money in so many ways. Please keep these people in your prayers and thoughts, and hope that they might find some comfort.

Wood...
I just love the look of incorporating a some natural made and raw items into decorating. It is such a great way to add another texture into your home. Just a few pieces here and there will give your space a fresh feeling to it. What's even better is that alot of these ideas are "do it yourself" ones.
These are both eco-friendly and in-expensive ways to decorate. You can find pretty branches, bark or tree stumps to create some pretty awesome things. One of my favorite ideas is making simple little coasters out of tree stumps. All you need is the wood and a saw....and you've got yourself a fun and unique way to hold your favorite drinks. You can also decorate a the flat side of a piece of wood to make it your own little piece of art. Or even use the bark of a tree and insert a glass vase you might already own to have a new way to hold your flowers.

Not your grandmothers wallpaper...
When most people think of wallpaper these days, they go back to when they use to visit their grandmothers house and there was some awful, outdated design on the wall. Well you won't find that here. People thought that the wallpaper trend was long gone.....but, IT"S BACK! ... and I must say it is fabulous. I am thinking of anywhere in my house that I could use a little jazzing up.
The designers name is Lisa Bengtsson and she is based out of Stockholm Sweden. She has an amazing gallery of art that you have to check out. What is the most inspiring about her to me is that she is the same age as I am, and is living her dream as an artist.
I think my favorite wallpaper out of the bunch is in this first picture, where she was asked to design a hotel room at the Hotel Anglais in Stockholm. How fun!

Wild Horses...
Ok... there is something about wild horses that totally takes my breath away. They are so beautiful and free. I have been in search for the perfect horse artwork for my own home, and I think these just might be the ones. They are from the Wild Horses of Sable Island Collection at DUTESCOART. How will I ever pick just one? I love how these pictures are in black and white, as I am usually drawn to black and white photography. They really do go with just about any color, and these photos show you that you don't have to have a country themed home to have horse pictures on your walls. I can't get over how much I adore these.
Little "Sneak Peek"
Here are a few of the items that I will be posting when I re-open my shop. I wanted to have a bit of a new feel to things, and I think I accomplished that. This new line will be on more of the romantic side, which seems fitting since Valentines Day is just around the corner. I will keep you up dated on when I will be opening. Cheers!

Color Grouping...
I know that my eyes tend to be attracted to certain colors, so those are the colors of items I usually leave the stores with. If you are anything like me, then this idea is a perfect way to add a new look to your home without puting a dent in your wallet. Simply go through your knick knacks, whether it is books, vases, pictures... you name it... and it will work. Rearrange them in groups of the same color scheme to add a really refreshing new take on some of your old, but still loved items.
A Fresh Start To The New Year...
One of the first things that I did after Christmas was take down all of my (cherished but ready to box up) holiday decorations, and then clean clean clean. It feels SO GOOD to get rid of all of that dust and pine needles. I love the feeling of a fresh start to the New Year with a clean home, and fresh new pile of yummy fabrics that I have collected over the past year. I will be doing alot of sewing and crafting to get my shop ready to re-open my shop next month.
Here are some very inspiring pictures that just make me so happy. I love all of the collected letters that each have their own great texture and character. They all together make for a spectacular focal point on the wall, without going for the basic framed art. Way to think "outside the frame".

Also, here is some really fun and in-expensive artwork from Matou en Pelouche. I purchased three of her prints, and can't wait to find the perfect frames to put them in.
